Sunset Mountain Miniatures is a small miniature horse ranch in north

Texas owned by Daniel and Carla Crider. We want to glorify Christ in all

that we do.

We specialize in performance horses like jumpers and driving horses.

Our horses are AMHA and AMHR registered. Established in 2003, we

have a small herd of miniature horses (approximately 30 show horses

and breeding horses plus yearly

babies.) We started showing horses

in 2004. Our star jumper, Larry,

started in the show ring in 2005.

Since then we have added and bred and trained horses to the point that

we now have eleven show horses including World Champions, National

Champions, AMHR All Stars and

AMHA Honor Role horses. We have

also bred many horses that are now

active in equine therapy.

Our daughter, Rebekah, started working with our horses in 2003. You can see her in many of our early pictures and ads. She helped us raise babies, train horses, and won one World Championship and one Reserve World Championship for us. She was responsible for a lot of Larry’s early training. This baby filly is MoonDust. MoonDust is now one of our National Champions. In 2015 we added a son-in-law, Jonathan Jorgensson. This picture is of Rebekah and Jonathan. Rebekah and Jonathan also compete on the U.S. Martial Arts Team that represents the United States in international competition. We are very proud of the fact that Rebekah is now serving in the U.S. Navy. She and Jonathan are both Petty Officers (although she currently outranks him :) ). She still loves our horses though and keeps close track of our show activities and the baby horses. Jonathan also follows our horses and show activities, especially the crazy stuff like chariot racing. Our son, Michael, was not involved much with the horses while he was here. But he often took care of them for us. Michael is also a superb amateur photographer. Many of our best pictures taken at the AMHA World Championship and AMHR National Championship shows were taken by him. One of his best pictures was taken at a photo shoot at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. This picture later became a Miniature Horse World cover. It shows Larry jumping over a huge fallen tree at the gardens. Many reported to us that it was the best cover they had seen. Michael is currently a technical writer for several Internet technology web sites. Michael is also an author of science fiction. Look for his book, Good Intentions: A Supervillain Story, on Amazon.
