Team Driving
In late 2015 we started training our first driving team. By the end
of 2016 we had been in 8 parades, 4 local shows, 1 regional
championship, and 1 national championship. Our first team is
made up of Sunset Mountain MoonDust and Sunset Mountain
Painted Liberty. We compete in Draft, Light Harness, Carriage,
and Team Chariot. By the end of 2017 we hope to be up to four
horses with the addition of Sunset Mountain Bluestar Beauty and
Sunset Mountain Midnite Storm Dancer.

MoonDust is the lead horse in all team driving, including team
chariot. She and her partner Sunset Mountain Painted Liberty won
the 2016 AMHR National Championship in Team Chariot. Both of
them were also 2016 All Stars in Team Chariot.
Libby is the right hand horse all team events, including Team
Chariot. Both Moon Dust and Libby were 2016 All Stars in Team
Chariot and were the 2016 National Champions.
A large part of the reason we have been successful in team driving is
the fact that we have had excellent advice. When Jan Tobey of Mars-
Montrose found out we wanted to do team driving she invited us to
her ranch for lessons. She has continued to give us great advice and
assistance on a regular basis. One of our driving mares (Blue Star
Beauty) is by her amazing stallion Lots of Dots. Jan is well known in
AMHA, AMHR, and Shetland Pony for driving magnificent horses,
often in teams of four. She drives in Chariot, Draft, Light Harness,
and Carriage. She has beautiful wagons, carriages, and even a small
stage coach that can be pulled by miniature horses. The picture above
is of one of her teams. She is also famous for driving a team of four in
Roman Chariot.
In this picture she is driving with another friend, Earnest Lambdin.
Ernie has also given us lots of great advice.

Here we are driving in Draft competition. MoonDust and Libby
were also in the top ten horses in 2016 AMHR National
Championship in the Draft, Light Harness, and Carriage classes. We
seem to frequently pick up passengers, even in competition. Riding
in the wagon are Faith Bowen and Gracie McBride.
Some events require a rider. One of those is the Carriage class. Here
is Debra Glosser (Brooke Glosser’s mom) adding elegance and style
to our appearance. The rider is required for more than appearance
though. They must be able to jump out of the vehicle and provide
assistance with the horses if needed. Thanks Debra!
Some happy passengers on board during the 2016 Fort Worth
Parade of Lights.
We made the local news in a July 4th parade in Granbury, Tx.
Libby is the right hand horse all team events, including all wagon
events. Notice how she and Moon Dust are in perfect step.
