Spotz Simply Smashing (Sunshine)

Sunshine may be the prettiest horse here at Sunset Mountain. She

is shown here thrilling a young lady at a Weatherford College “Safe

Halloween” event. Several thousand children, many of whom had

never touched a horse before, lined up to meet our horses.

Sunshine was one of 4 “petting horses” we had with us that night.

She worked tirelessly to thrill young fans.

Sunshine competes in Hunter and Halter Obstacle. Sunshine was

the 2016 AMHR National Champion in Amateur Hunter. She was

also the 2016 Reserve Champion All Star in Amateur Hunter. She

was also the 2016 National Reserve Champion in Open Hunter and

has had several other top 10 placings in AMHR Nationals and

AMHA World.

competition with our young friend Faith.

Sunshine competes in Halter Obstacle. Here she is demonstrating

“ground parking”, where the lead is placed on the ground and the

horse must remain still while the handler performs some task.

Sometimes the task involves things like walking in a circle around

the horse while pulling some noisy behind -- like a rope with cans

on it. Or standing motionless beside a bale of hay or a feed bucket.

Sunshine was the 2016 Reserve National Champion in Halter

Obstacle in AMHR. She was also an All Star. And she has often

placed in the top 5 at AMHA World in Halter Obstacle.
